Detroit Community has informed Whiteford Athletic Director and football coach Jason Mensing that it will forfeit its Week 2 varsity football game against the Bobcats.

“We are currently looking to see if other potential options exist,” Mensing said.

The Bobcats are coming off a 13-1 season in which it advanced to the Division 8 state finals. In Week 2 last season, Whiteford beat Community 60-20.

The Bobcats open the season Friday at Blissfield.
