Whiteford and Lenawee Christian will play for the first time when the teams play in the first round of the MHSAA state football playoffs.
The game will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Whiteford coach and athletic director Jason Mensing said.
The 9-0 Bobcats, who just completed its second consecutive undefeated regular season, will host the Cougars, who are 6-3 and in the playoffs for the third time in five years and are coached by former Madison coach Bill Wilharms.
Whiteford will be making its sixth consecutive appearance in the playoffs and are 10-5 over the last five years, including District championships in 2013, 2015 and 2016. Whiteford played in the Division 8 semifinals in 2015 and in the state championship game last season.
