JV football game called due to weather

OTTAWA LAKE — The Whiteford JV football game Thursday was called with a little more than three minutes remaining in the third quarter due to a lengthy lightning delay and impending storm.

Whiteford trailed Madison 20-14 at the time.

The Trojans scored in the third quarter to take the lead their first lead on the Bobcats, who led 8-0 after the first quarter and 14-12 at halftime.

Levi Hillard and Cole Giesige scored Whiteford’s first half touchdowns with Giesige getting a two-point conversion and also setting up his touchdown with a 67-yard kickoff return.

The Bobcats are on the road next week at Morenci.
