OTTAWA LAKE — The first-ever District basketball pairings in which the No. 1 and No. 2 teams are seeded have been posted by the Michigan High School Athletic Association.

Blissfield is the top seed in the District that the Royals host. Summerfield and Whiteford are both in that district.

The MHSAA determined the brackets based on a combination of seedings and a blind alphabetical draw. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds are based on a ranking formula. The remaining spots on the bracket are filled according to alphabetical order of the remaining teams.

March 2: Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central vs. Blissfield, 7 p.m.

March 4: SMCC-Blissfield winner vs. Summerfield, 5:30 p.m.; Whiteford vs. Erie Mason, 7 p.m.

March 6: Finals, 7 p.m.
