PETERSBURG – A slow start Wednesday cost the Whiteford’s girls basketball team in a 54-40 loss to Summerfield.

The Bobcats scored just 14 points in the first half and fell behind 28-14 to Summerfield.

Paige Thomas and Zoe Bauman scored 10 points apiece to lead Whiteford in scoring.
