LANSING — Whiteford will be competing in various state tournament for the 2021-22 school year as the MHSAA has announced some changes to its sport-by-sport division list.

The MHSAA divides each sport into four classes – except for football which is divided into eight.

Whiteford’s baseball team, along with cross country as well as boys and girls track and field will move from Division 4 to Division 3 for this coming school year. The boys and girls basketball teams and volleyball teams will remain in Division 3. The softball team will also remain in the Division 4 for the state tournament while the Bobcat football team will play in Division 8.

The MHSAA bases its divisions on enrollment.
