Whiteford sweeps Aggies in three sets to stay near top of TCC

OTTAWA LAKE — Whiteford’s volleyball team keeps winning games and gaining confidence.

The Bobcats improved to 7-7-2 overall with a 27-25, 25-18, 27-25 win over Sand Creek Thursday in a Tri-County Conference match-up. Whiteford is 5-1 in the TCC, a game behind undefeated Madison in the conference standings.

The Bobcats got 17 digs from Aly VanBrandt and 13 from Anna VanBrandt. Alaina Andrews had 19 assists and 7 kills, while Mackenzie Ulery had 7 kills. Ava Hillard chipped in with four aces.

The Whiteford JV squad also won in three sets. Anna Schober (7 assists, 5 digs), Alaina McClain (4 aces), Shay Alexander (7 digs) and Aubrie Simmons (7 digs) led Whiteford to the win.
