ADRIAN – Whiteford’s boys cross country team placed second in the six-team Madison Invite Tuesday as three runners placed in the top 11.
Keegan Masters was third (18:10.94) while Luke Murphy and Elliott Rodgers finished 10th and 11th.
“We ran well today given that we had a really hard week of practice last week and this weekend,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said. “Our legs were fresh from not racing, but we had quality workouts and I think that showed today.
“The guys went out and made moves after the first mile and did a great job executing their race plans.”
Ryan Oberle finished 19th (20:24.98) while Cole Crouch (20:57.11) was No. 29 and Nick Oberle No. 30 (21:05.78).
In the girls race, Sidney Miller was 23rd in 26:58.84 and Megan Butz one place behind her at 27:07.40.
