Whiteford faced one of its stiffest non-league schedules ever this season.
Playing a flurry of higher division teams, state-ranked opponents and league champions helped prepare the Bobcats for the post-season.
The Bobcats have been outstanding during this state tournament run, winning games of 16-0 and 10-0 in the districts and 10-0 and 15-0 in the regional. In the regional Saturday, Berlynn Keller and Unity Nelson combined to not allow a hit and just one of those two teams had a baserunner all day.
The toughest post-season test to date should come today when the Bobcats take on Kalamazoo Christian at 5:30 p.m. at Kalamazoo College.
A win today would send Whiteford into the semifinals at 3 p.m. Friday at Michigan State University against Onekama or Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart.
