Whiteford’s football team has been ranked No. 1 in Division 8 in the first Associated Press football poll of the 2022 season.
The Bobcats are coming off an impressive 52-14 win over Detroit Loyola and stand 3-0 heading into their first Tri-County Conference game of the season Friday against Madison.
The Bobcats are the only TCC team ranked in the top 10, but Erie Mason received one vote and is ranked No. 16 in Division 7.
Several other area schools made the first of seven polls.
From the Lenawee County Athletic Association, Clinton is No. 2 in Division 6 and Hudson is No. 2 in Division 7. Cascades Conference teams Addison (No. 10 in Division 8) and Napoleon (No. 11 in Division 7) are also ranked.
