Three Bobcats chasing state title dreams at Michigan International Speedway

BROOKLYN, Mich. – Three Whiteford runners will compete for a state championship Saturday at the Division 3 state cross country meet.

Keegan Masters, Elliott Rodgers and Zach Kahn all qualified for the state meet after placing inside the top 10 at the Regional meet last weekend at Willow Metropark.

Masters broke his own school record for the fourth time this season when he became the first Whiteford boys athlete to win a regional championship. He finished the course in 16:20.5 to finish first.

Rodgers was sixth at 17:16 and Kahn ninth at 17:46.6. Rodgers was only two seconds off the old Bobcat record, held by Jake Berry, of 17:14.

The boys state championship race begins at 10:10 a.m. Saturday at Michigan International Speedway.
