Bobcats finish sweep of Northview

On Saturday, Whiteford’s softball team finished a game that started last week by beating Northview 4-0.

Unity Nelson allowed one hit, while walking one batter and striking out 14.

Aly VanBrandt had four hits in the game with Shaylin Alexander getting three and Nelson batting in two.

In the second game, Whiteford won 11-2 with Karlei Conard getting the win in the circle. VanBrandt, Alexander and Nelson collected multiple hits while Patrina Marsh scored three runs.

With a 4-0 start, the Bobcats face some tough competition in the next week.

The Bobcats face Division 2 Tecumseh on Monday and play in a tournament on Saturday against 2022 Ohio Division 1 runner-up Springfield and perennial powerhouse Lancaster.

“We’re excited to face some great competition early in the season and look forward to learning and growing,” Whiteford coach Matt VanBrandt said. “We’re grateful for the invite and can’t wait to compete.”
