Whiteford split with Madison Wednesday to open TCC play, dropping the first game 2-1 but coming back to win the second game 3-1. Madison pushed across a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie and win Game 1.Logan Tammerine and Brenden Masters managed Whiteford’s only hits. Noah Stevens went the distance on the hill, striking out seven and giving up one earned run.In game two, the Bobcats managed eight hits, including two by Tammerine and two by leadoff batter Shea Ruddy. Ruddy also scored twice. Tammerine also got the win, striking out eight in 6.1 innings of work. Masters closed out the win, striking out one of the two batters he faced. Whiteford is 2-3 on the season.
