Clinton first in Mark Christensen Invitational; Bobcats third

OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford split its games Saturday in the annual Mark Christensen Baseball Tournament, falling 6-4 to Manchester and beating Whitmore Lake 18-3.

Clinton, who swept Whitmore Lake and Manchester was the tournament champion.

Jake Giesige had two hits against Manchester. Luke Rasor went three innings, striking out five and giving up four hits and four earned runs. Brenden Masters pitched the final four innings and took the loss.  

In the consolation game, the Bobcats clobbered Whitmore Lake 18-3, scoring five runs in the first, one in the second, nine in the third and three in the fourth before the game was called.

Masters had a big game at the plate, leading off and having three hits in four at-bats. He scored three runs. Logan Tammerine went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Vida had two doubles and Schroyer also had two hits.

Aidan Cousino went all four innings on the hill and picked up the win, giving up just one earned run and striking out three.
