Whiteford sweeps Sand Creek behind solid pitching, timely hitting

SAND CREEK – Whiteford swept Sand Creek Wednesday, 4-1 and 13-1, to remain first place in the Tri-County Conference.

The Bobcats got complete game pitching performances from Nate Stevens and Logan Tammerine Wednesday while Luke Rasor had two hits and two RBIs in the opener and two hits and three RBIs in the second game.

Stevens went seven innings in the opener, striking out six. Jake Giesige also had two hits in the first game, including a double.

In Game 2, Tammerine struck out 13 in six innings. Shea Ruddy and Brendon Masters had two hits each.

Whiteford is 8-5 overall and 5-1 in the TCC.
