A pair of Whiteford graduates made major impacts on their college softball and baseball teams.
Berlynn Keller was named the softball MVP at Lourdes University in Sylvania recently after a superb freshman season.
Keller struck out 45 batters in 107 innings, finishing with an ERA of 3.14 and going 5-12 in her 25 appearances. She started 19 games and allowed 48 earned runs.

Cole Giesige, a freshman at Albion, was named MIAA Pitcher of the Week twice during the season, including the last week in April when he pitched a complete game shutout against Trine in a must-win game for Albion. He struck out six and allowed just two hits in a 2-0 Briton win.
Earlier this season, Giesige struck out a school record 19 in a game. His 71 strikeouts for the season ranked second in the conference for the season. He finished 4-4 with 11 starts and 12 appearances. He pitched 55 innings.
