SWANTON, Ohio – The deeper into the game, the hotter the Bobcat bats became.
Whiteford led just 3-2 after three innings, but scored nine times over the next three times they came to the plate and beat Swanton 12-2.
Whiteford banged out 12 hits in the win, improving to 13-6 on the season.
Brendon Masters seems to have settled into his role as the Bobcat leadoff batter. He had three more hits Thursday. Shea Ruddy, Luke Rasor and Logan Tammerine had two hits each giving the Bobcats nine hits between its first four batters in the lineup.
Tammerine hit a homerun and had three RBIs. Jake Giesige added a double.
Tammerine also picked up the victory, striking out 12.
Whiteford is at Sylvania Southview on Saturday.
