Whiteford is 6th,11th at MITCA state meet; Masters breaks mark

Whiteford’s boys finished sixth at the MITCA team state meet Saturday.

Shea Ruddy and Jake Iott finished 1-2 in the 400 and were part of the runner-up 4×400 Relay team with Ryin Ruddy and Dylan Anderson. Keegan Masters broke the school record in the 800 and placed third in the 3200.

The Whiteford girls placed 11th.

“It was a hot day and a slow start for us, but we had a solid day of results,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said. “I’m proud of everyone’s efforts. It takes a solid team to be able to qualify for the MITCA team state meet, but to be one of the smallest division 3 schools and compete well with larger division 3 schools is a good thing.”
