Masters breaks own school record in first cross country race of season

ADDISON – Keegan Masters didn’t waste any time in setting records for the Whiteford cross country team.

The Bobcats opened the season Friday at Addison. Masters finished first overall with a time of 16:16, breaking his own school record.

The Bobcat boys placed eighth as a team.

Zach Kahn was 14th (18:38) and Brendan Masters ran in 32nd place.

For the Bobcat girls, Braelynn Chiotti finished 11th with a time of 23:11. Annie Gapp (18) and Emily Rasor (19) also finished in the top 20. The Bobcat girls were fourth.

“It was a solid day for our first race,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said. “We have work to do and room to improve. It’ll be exciting to see how we improve from this race until the last.”
