Masters has great finish at Rambling Rock Invitational

On Saturday, the Bobcats competed at the Rambling Rock Invitational at Willow Metropark and hosted by Salem High School. More than 30 Division 1 teams were in the race.

“It was much larger (of an event) than we usually go to, but necessary for where we want to end up this season,” said Whiteford coach Jay Yockey.

Keegan Masters led the Bobcat finishers with a time of 16:18, just two seconds off his personal best. He was the top finishing Division 3 runner and was battling for the lead with just over a half mile to go. He placed seventh overall.

Zach Kahn (18:29.0) placed 93rd overall.

Braelynn Chiotti led the Bobcat girls with a time of 23:23.8, placing her 108th. Emily Rasor came in the top 150 with a 25:00.9 finishing time.

“I think the girls learned a lot about how to race in a large setting,” Yockey said.

The Bobcats host the TCC Jamboree Tuesday.
