OTTAWA LAKE – The last team to beat Whiteford – Hudson, in the 2022 Division 8 semifinals – will come to Ottawa Lake Friday to take on the Bobcats in a district championship tilt.
The 10-0 Bobcats will host the 8-2 Tigers in a clash of southeast Michigan schools that has been building all season.
Whiteford reached the district finals with a 59-0 win over Sand Creek to open the playoffs. Hudson beat Addison 40-0 in a stunning defensive performance, shutting out the team that came into the game with the highest scoring offense of any 11-player team in the state, regardless of class.
It will be Hudson’s first time playing at Whiteford and the second meeting all-time between the school.
The Tigers lost back-to-back games in weeks eight and nine, falling to Dundee and to Clinton.
Whiteford went through the regular season unbeaten for the second straight season.
