
Keegan Masters will represent Whiteford at the Division 3 state cross country meet after finishing second in the regional Saturday.
Masters finished in 16:11.20.
“He led most of the race but was overtaken by the runner from Flat Rock in the last 200 meters,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said. “He will represent us at MIS next week and he hopes to better his 19th place finish from last year.”
Masters placed second, Zach Kahn 21st, Gaspare Pirrone 52nd, Brendon Masters 54th.
Logan Keane placed 68th, Ryan Thomas 69th and Josh Hill 70th.
Whiteford’s girls placed eighth. Clinton was the champion with SMCC placing second and Blissfiedl third.
Braelynn Chiotti was 30th with a time of 22:36.10.
Annabelle Gapp placed 41st with a time of 23:52.5 with teammate Emily Rasor right behind her at 23:53.30.
Jillian Webb placed 58th, Reagan Wing 59th, Margo Thomas 69th and Maysen Podgorski 72nd.
“It was a perfect day to run with cool temps and little to no wind,” Yockey said. “Everyone ran really well and looked tough all day.”
