OTTAWA LAKE – Friday is not only a trophy game for the Whiteford Bobcats, but it could also be a milestone victory.

The Bobcats bring 399 all-time varsity football wins into the game, dating back to the first year of varsity football at Whiteford, 1957.

Whiteford’s next victory will be all-time win No. 400.

Note: Michigan-football.com lists Whiteford with 401 all-time wins already. However, the organizers of that Web site are counting two forfeits from teams that did not field a football team for that season – Erie Mason in 1978 and Addison in 1982. Those games were not considered “forfeit’s” in today’s sense of the word as school sports was cut prior to the football season starting, thus the game was scheduled but was never played. I am not counting those “wins” in the official Whiteford stats.
