The Whiteford Bobcats (13-0) and Ubly Bearcats (13-0) have seemingly been on a crash course since the 2022 state championship game ended.

Both teams survived rugged regular seasons unscathed and marched through the state playoffs and have wound up with matching undefeated records going into Saturday’s Division 8 state championship game at Ford Field.

Whiteford punched its ticket to the finals by beating Riverview Gabriel Richard 35-6 Saturday at Adrian College. Ubly took care of business over Beal City, beating the Aggies 24-6.

Now, Whiteford and Ubly will match 13-0 records and momentum with a 10 a.m. kickoff at Ford Field on Saturday.
