Bobcat girls spreading the wealth in 3-0 start to season

OTTAWA LAKE — Three games – three different scoring leaders.

Whiteford’s girls basketball team is off to a 3-0 start after Anna Schober sank five 3-pointers and scored 19 points to lead the Bobcats to a 45-38 win over Jefferson.

“It’s great to see the team sharing the basketball,” Bobcat coach Nick Brillhart said. “We’ve had three different leading scorers in three games.”

Schober, who also had six rebounds, did a lot of the work in the scoring column but had help. Emily Hill scored 15 points and went 8-for-10 from the free throw line.

Jefferson tied the game 35-35 with three minutes remaining. The Bobcats went on a 10-1 run to take control. Hill hit four consecutive free throws during that stretch.
