NEW BOSTON – Whiteford’s competitive cheerleading team kicked off the 2023-24 season by placing fifth out of 13 varsity teams in the New Boston Huron Christmas Classic.

The Bobcats scored 601.7 points, the highest it has ever scored in a varsity meet.

“We took second for Division 3 and 4 combined and first in Division 4,” Whiteford coach Kim DeSilvis said. “I’m so proud of these girls. We still have so much of the season left.”

The previous high score for a meet for the Bobcats at 557.
