QUINCY – Whiteford defeated Quincy Friday afternoon to win the championship of the Quincy Holiday Tournament, 67-48.

Whiteford led 32-31 at halftime, but came out in the second half and shut down the Oriole offense in the third quarter and pulled away for the victory.

The 7-2 Bobcats were led by tournament MVP Kolby Masserant, who finished with 26 points.

Evan Parker scored 10 points and Hunter DeBarr 10 for Whiteford, which is off until Thursday, Jan. 4 when they take on Summerfield.

Whiteford’s JV team also captured the tournament championship, beating the host school in the finals and handing the Orioles its first loss in nearly two seasons.

On Thursday, Whiteford beat Mendon 89-50.

The Bobcats had 49 points by halftime and had four players reach double figures in winning the first game of the Quincy Holiday Tournament.

Hunter DeBarr scored 21, Josh Hill 17, Liam Waterford 14, and Evan Parker 11 for Whiteford.
