Whiteford’s dominance over TCC softball continues with fifth straight league title

OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford pushed its TCC championship streak to five Wednesday with a doubleheader sweep of Sand Creek.

The Bobcats won 3-0 and 13-2, clinching a fifth consecutive league title. The Bobcat seniors went 44-0 in TCC competition over the past four years.

Unity Nelson threw a no-hitter, striking out 19 in a 3-0 win in the opener. Shay Alexander had two RBIs and Keira Griffith doubled.

In Game 2, Karlei Conard went 3-for-4 with a triple and two doubles and was the winning pitcher. Brooklyn Mills had two hits.

The 22–5-1 Bobcats are at Monroe Saturday for a doubleheader.

Sand Creek is 21-13 and second-place in the TCC.

The Bobcats have won 45 straight league games in all, the second longest softball winning streak in league history behind a 57-game streak by Clinton that ended in 2013.
