Logan Tammerine is Whiteford’s first four-time All-State baseball player.
The recent graduate this week was named to the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Division 3 All-State Second Team. He finished his career by being named second team three times and first team once.
He is joined on the All-State Second Team by teammate Nate Stevens.
Tammerine was Whiteford’s top hitter this season, batting .395 in 76 at-bats. He led the team in home runs with three and RBIs with 30. On the mound, Tammerine went 6-1 with 97 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched. He allowed just 11 earned runs.
Stevens had an impressive junior season, going 9-0 on the hill with a 1.48 ERA. He struck out 66 batters in 47 and one-third innings pitched, helping the Bobcat pitching staff strike out a school-record 314 batters.
At the plate, Stevens batted .351, third on the team. He had eight doubles and drove in 23 runs.
The Bobcats won league and district championships and reached the regional finals. The 28-8 overall record set a school record for victories.
