Whiteford to battle Ida in battle of ranked, 1-0 opponents

IDA – Whiteford will travel to Ida Friday, its shortest road trip of the season, to battle the Bluestreaks.

Whiteford is ranked No. 1 in Division 7, according to the Detroit Free Press. Ida is ranked No. 13 in Division 6 in the latest Calpreps.com poll.

“Whiteford is an excellent program with athletic kids that are well coached and fundamentally sound,” Ida coach Jeff Potter said. “They are on a 24 -game regular season winning streak, so we hope to compete with them on Friday night.”

Bobcat coach Todd Thieken said the Bluestreaks will be a tough out.

“I told the kids after last week’s win that we might be playing the toughest team on our schedule this week,” Thieken said.

Ida started its season with a 48-6 win over Grosse Ile while the Bobcats extended their regular season win streak with 35-6 win over Blissfield.
