LIVONIA – Whiteford went 2-3 Saturday at the Livonia Stevenson Invitational, losing to Airport in the Silver Bracket finals.

The Bobcats lost to the HEA Firebirds 25-19, 23-25, 15-13, beat Rochester, 25-23, 25-22 and lost to Ann Arbor Pioneer 25-21, 25-16, in pool play. Whiteford opened bracket play by beating Walled Lake Central 23-25, 25-19, 15-13 then lost to Airport 25-14, 25-21 in the finals.

“It was a long day for us,” Whiteford coach Janie Valdez said. “We were very up and down.”

Liv Ruehle made the All-Tournament team for the Bobcats. She had 76 digs and seven aces.

Bailey Spradling added 25 digs, 23 kills and four aces. Addeson Cousino had 68 assists and seven aces on the day.
