OTTAWA LAKE – A couple of winning streaks will be on the line when Whiteford hosts Summerfield tonight in a Tri-County Conference football game.
The Bobcats come into the game with an 24-game home field win streak, dating back to Nov. 13, 2020 when Summerfield beat the Bobcats in a playoff game. Whiteford has also won 15 straight TCC games, dating back to Oct. 2, 2020 with a league loss to Sand Creek.
Whiteford comes into the game with a 2-2 record, with wins over Blissfield and Buchanan and losses to Ida and Edon, Ohio.
Summerfield has made appearances in statewide Division 7 polls this season and brings a 3-1 record into Ottawa Lake.
Mitchell Gomulinski leads the Bulldogs in rushing with 565 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s averaging 7.7 yards per carry. He’s also Summerfield’s top tackler.
Trace Secor has completed 50 percent of his passes for 488 yards and six touchdowns. Tyler Dafoe has caught 15 passes for 349 yards and four touchdowns.
It’s one of the final TCC 11-Player football games. The league is down to three teams – Whiteford, Summerfield and Erie Mason. The Bobcats play Erie Mason next week and the Summerfield-Erie Mason game is Oct. 11.
