Final TCC football game on tap for Whiteford tonight

Whiteford will play tonight in what appears to be their final football in the Tri-County Conference.

The Bobcats joined the TCC in 1975 and has been a member of the league since in all sports, including football. However, this season is the final one for football – the league remains intact for all other sports – as only three schools remain with an 11-player football team – Whiteford, Erie Mason and Summerfield.

This year’s TCC football consists of just three games – Summerfield beat Whiteford 20-14 last week; Whiteford hosts Erie Mason this week and Erie Mason visits Summerfield Oct. 11.

Whiteford (2-3) will take Erie Mason (1-4) tonight in the woods.

The Bobcats are on a two-game losing streak while Mason has battled injuries all season and has lost four consecutive games.

Whiteford leads the all-time series 16-8 and hasn’t lost to the Eagles since 1984.
