Whiteford hands Summerfield first loss of season

PETERSBURG – Two Emily Rasor free throws in the final seconds lifted Whiteford to a 47-45 victory over previously unbeaten Summerfield Thursday.

“Emily Rasor played a great game for us,” Whiteford coach Nick Brillhart said. “It was a terrific basketball game. Both teams played hard, exactly what you’d expect in a rivalry game.”

Whiteford is now 4-1 while Summerfield (6-1) suffered its first loss of the season.

Rasor led the Bobcats with 16 points. Avy Wood chipped in with 12 points.
