OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford tuned up for a clash with No. 5 Summerfield Thursday by turning in a defensive gem against Morenci.

Whiteford held the Bulldogs to four points in the first quarter and nine in the first half and won at home, 53-32.

Rylan Joerin scored eight of his game-high 16 points in the second quarter for the Bobcats, who built a 30-9 lead by halftime. Caden Schroyer added 10 points for 11-5 Whiteford.

The Bobcats host 13-0 Summerfield Thursday.
