NAPOLEON – Whiteford senior Haley Luse will battle for a third state powerlifting championship next month after placing first in the regional competition Saturday in Napoleon.

Luse, who won state titles as a freshman and sophomore and finished as the runner-up last year, won the 155-pound division regional title Saturday. Her lifts included squat (295), bench (180) and deadlift (315).

Nolan Brown placed second and Gavin Peters third in the 165-weight division Saturday for the Bobcats as well.
