Peyton Welch started in the circle for the Bobcats, making her varsity debut. She was one of three freshmen in the Whiteford starting lineup.
“We had some bright spots to build on,” Whiteford coach Matt VanBrandt said. “Peyton showed great composure and grit throughout the game.”
VanBrandt said the Bobcats will have several tests, like Flat Rock, during the early season schedule.
“We built our pre-conference schedule to prep us to compete for a league title. Our first nine games are a grit and gut check.”
