ADRIAN – Whiteford swept Lenawee Christian Wednesday in the Tri-County Conference opener for both schools, 26-1 and 12-0.
Brendon Masters and Trent Eitniear each scored four runs in the first game and Zayne Emch had five hits and four RBIs. Tre Eitniear hit a grand slam – his first high school homerun – and drove in five runs and Trent Eitniear four.
Tre Eitniear was the winning pitcher, striking out six in three innings.
Nate Stevens was the winning pitcher in Game 2.
Nate Stevens had three hits and scored three runs. Masters and both Eitniear’s had two bits with Tre Eitniear slugging another home run.
Whiteford is 2-2.
