Whiteford clinches TCC softball championship sweep

OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford clinched a share of its sixth straight TCC softball championship Wednesday with a sweep of Britton Deerfield, 17-0, 16-0.

The Bobcats are 8-0 in the TCC with two games remaining against Sand Creek next week.

Peyton Welch threw three perfect innings in the first game, striking out seven Patriots. Ava Stevens tossed a no-hitter in the second game.

Brooklyn Mills and Stevens led the Bobcat hitters.

Whiteford will participate this weekend in the 40-team Michigan Challenge in Canton. Their first game Is Friday against Wyandotte Roosevelt.
