OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford is looking for a new girls basketball coach after Nick Brillhart stepped down to take the boys basketball job at Bedford.
Brillhart coached the Bobcats for two seasons, going 27-19. The 14 victories this past season was the most for the Bobcat girls basketball team since winning 15 games in 2012-13.
“Nick did a fantastic job over the last two years and his guidance helped our varsity girls have a great experience,” Whiteford athletic director Marcus Luzier said. “Nick coaches with his heart on his sleeve and he will be missed here. I wish him the best at Bedford.”
Brillhart is a 2001 Bedford graduate. He was the Bedford boy’s junior varsity coach for eight years prior to coming to Whiteford and also coached JV baseball at Bedford.
“I loved coaching at Whiteford,” Brillhart said. “Fantastic community. I can’t say enough about it. It’s just I an opportunity that I never thought would come up again. It’s not often you get the chance to coach at your alma mater.”
Brillhart will take over the Bedford job from Jordan Bollin, who was recently names the Whiteford boys basketball coach.
