TECUMSEH – Whiteford’s varsity volleyball team started the season by going 1-2 in a four-team match at Tecumseh Wednesday.
The Bobcats beat Ida 26-24, 25-23, but lost to Milan (25-23, 25-23) and Tecumseh (25-16, 25-20).
Tecumseh was a Division 2 state finalist last season.
“It was a good first day of competition against good teams,” Bobcat coach Janie Valdez said. “We competed well at times and learned a lot at times.”
Bailey Spradling had 14 kills and 16 digs while Maylie Mullins had 15 kills and 15 digs for the 1-2 Bobcats.
Monday is Volleytotz Night at Whiteford as the Bobcats host Blissfield.
