BLISSFIELD – The Whiteford Bobcats took advantage of two early Blissfield turnovers to jump out to a 16-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game and rolled to a 56-0 season opening victory.

“I thought our execution was there,” Bobcats head coach Todd Thieken said. “Two years ago we came here and I thought we were the better team, but needed a miracle play to win at the end. I didn’t want to see that happen tonight. Our kids were focused.”

Caden Stewart grabbed an interception on Blissfield’s first offensive play, which led to a Whiteford scoring drive.

Brek Ruddy scored three touchdowns, Drew Ruddy two and Antonio Nachtrab and Andres Trejo added the other Bobcat touchdowns.

The Bobcats had 439 yards of total offense, compared to 123 for Blissfield.

Whiteford travels to Davison next Saturday to take on Harbor Beach in a non-conference tilt.
