OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford’s defense stood tall early and the offense did the rest as the Bobcats beat West Unity Hilltop 63-6 in its first ever Toledo Area Athletic Conference game.

The Bobcat defense recovered a fumble, blocked a punt and returned an interception for a touchdown as the Bobcats built a 50-0 halftime lead against the Cadets.

The Bobcats held Hilltop to one first down and negative 7 yards of offense in the first half.

Tre Eitnier scored on runs of 21 and 27 yards. Brek Ruddy had back-to-back touchdowns of 69 and 18 yards. Drew Ruddy scored on runs of 18 and 31 yards and threw a 36-yard TD pass to Andrew Trejo. Trejo also had a rushing touchdown. Gabe Speweik returned an interception 46 yards for Whiteford.

The Bobcats led 63-0 before Hilltop’s Scott Bowers scored the lone touchdown of the game for the Cadets.

Whiteford is 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the TAAC.

Hilltop is 0-4.
