ERIE – Braelynn Chiotti won her second TCC Jamboree of the season Tuesday, helping the Bobcat girls cross country team place third in the league race at Erie Mason.
“She continues to impress,” Whiteford coach Jay Yockey said.
Chiotti finished in 22:04.88, ahead of two Summerfield runners. Briar Wing was fourth for the Bobcats, finishing in 23:07.48. Molly Fojtik was 12th with a run of 25:00.78.
“The rest of the top seven did a great job,” Yockey said, “We just need to close the gap between our two packs.”
Whiteford’s boys also placed third. Grant Rasor (18:29.84) placed fourth and was the highest finishing freshman. Xavier Abalos earned a top 15 finish for the Bobcats with a run of 20:29.08, a personal best.
The Bobcat cross country team is off until Oct. 7.
“We are hoping to get some good training in and allow our legs to gear up for the championships portion of our season,” Yockey said.
Summerfield won the girls event and Erie Mason had five of the top six finishers and won the boys jamboree.
