Whiteford goes into Friday’s game needing a victory to lock up a league championship.
Sound familiar?
The Bobcats were in a similar situation last year when they hosted Summerfield for a chance to win the final Tri-County Conference championship. It was Summerfield who went home celebrating, however, beating Whiteford 20-14.
Whiteford comes into Friday’s game at Petersburg 5-0 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference. A victory clinches no worse than a share of the league title for the Bobcats.
The 6-1 Bobcats have won five straight after losing to Harbor Beach in Week 2. Whiteford is the highest scoring 11-player football team in the state, averaging 56.4 points a game.
Summerfield started the season 2-0 but have gone 2-3 since. They are a high-scoring team as well, averaging 29.4 points a game.
