BELLEVILLE – Whiteford went 3-3 in the Belleville Tournament Saturday and have just one regular season match left before districts start Nov. 3.
The Bobcats beat West Bloomfield and lost to Grand Ledge and North Farmington in pool play.
In the Silver Bracket, they beat Melvindale and Gibraltar Carlson before losing to West Bloomfield in the bracket finals.
“It was a long day, with lots of high-level play,” Bobcat coach Janie Valdez said. “A lot of people got to play, which is good.”
Kailee LaVoy had 40 kills and Jenna Frye 29 kills on the day. Bailey Spradling had 30 kills and 48 digs to lead the Whiteford defense.
Addeson Cousino had 36 digs and 95 assists and 12 aces in the six matches.
The Bobcats are 19-12 overall.
The last remaining regular season game is Tuesday, Oct. 28 against Erie Mason. The Bobcats are 10-1 and can clinch a share of the TCC title with a win over the Eagles.
