OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford closed its regular season with their seventh straight victory, beating Ottawa Hills 62-8.

The Bobcats led 32-0 after the first quarter and went in front 38-0 on the first play of the second quarter when Ottawa Hills requested a running clock. The Bobcats ran just 24 offensive plays and had 390 yards of total offense.

Rocco Pillarelli had four rushes for 119 yards, including touchdown runs of 30, 36 and 61. Brek Ruddy, who went over 1,000 yards rushing for the season, had 109 yards on four attempts, including touchdowns of 67 and 21. Drew Ruddy also ran for two touchdowns.

Tre Eitniear threw a 34-yard TD pass to Gabe Speweik, who had three 2-point conversions.

Mason DeBarr had seven tackles to lead the Whiteford defense. The Bobcat allowed negative four yards rushing by the visiting Green Bears, who haven’t beaten Whiteford since 1976.

Through nine games, the Bobcats have scored 515 points, an average of 57.2 points a game. It’s the most points Whiteford has ever scored in the regular season.

With the win, Whiteford clinched the outright Toledo Area Athletic Conference championship and secured its Division 7 playoff spot. The playoff pairings will be announced at 5 p.m. Sunday.
