Whiteford sweeps TAAC post-season honors

OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford swept through the Toledo Area Athletic Conference, outscoring opponents 447-61 and winning all seven league games.

When the post-season awards were dished out last week, the Bobcats swept the honors again.

Brek Ruddy was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Mason DeBarr was the Defensive Player of the Year. Drew Ruddy was named Special Teams Player of the Year. And, head coach Todd Thieken was Coach of the Year.

The first team offense included Brek Ruddy and Rocco Pillarelli at running back, Jake Scott at center, Gavin Peters at guard and Nolan Walker at tackle.

In addition to DeBarr, the first team defense included lineman Shevy Alexander, linebacker Andy Trejo and defensive backs Drew Ruddy and Gabe Speweik.

The second team offense included running back Drew Ruddy and tackle Logan Riffle while the second team defense included Brek Ruddy at linebacker.

Winning honorable mention honors were Brody Hillard, Caden Stewart, Antonio Nachtrab and Tre Eitniear.
