ERIE – Whiteford’s girls basketball team turned in a nice job defensively Friday but lost to Erie Mason, 36-21.
The two teams split the regular season meetings for the season.
“Tonight was a tough game for us,” Whiteford coach Nick Kopp said. “Too many turnovers and silly mistakes that kept us from ever closing the gap.”
Avy Wood scored a career-high 17 points for the Bobcats. Only two other players scored.
“She had a fantastic game today,” Kopp said. “If she wasn’t out there, the game wouldn’t have been even close.”
