Bobcats beat BD to set up Thursday showdown

OTTAWA LAKE – Whiteford used a full-court press early Tuesday to jump in front of Britton Deerfield and cruised to a 75-33 victory.

The win sets up a showdown Thursday at Erie Mason. If the Bobcats win, they can do no worse than share the Tri-County Conference championship.

“We pressed right off the top and never looked back,” Bobcat coach Jordan Bollin said. “We led by 18 at halftime and were able to keep extending the lead through second half. I thought our effort was excellent, especially defensively. It was a good night as everyone got good minutes and contributed.”

Luke Henegar scored 20 points for the Bobcats, making four 3-pointers. Cole Griffith finished with 14 points and Caden Schroyer 12.

The Bobcats are 16-3 and 9-2 in the TCC.

Lenawee Christian is also 9-2 in the TCC heading into their game Thursday against Sand Creek.
